Google has published several reports of a local search update that started in early November. The report shows the update is associated with Google “utilizing neural matching as a part of the method of producing nearby search results”.
The name, “Nov. 2019 Local Search Update” follows the naming convention Google began using last year for Google core search algorithm updates.
Neural matching lets Google understand the users queries in nearby searches reason without a business name or description being included included.
Google directs businesses to their article local ranking help document for any specific, however business do not need to make any changes at this point.
The advice is still as per Googles original answer, relevance, prominence and distance to successful ranking in local search.
